Start a makerspace

You don’t need our permission to build a workshop in your community — but you might want our mistakes. We’ve made most of them already.

How it works

  1. 01

Tell us what you have in mind

Who the space is for, roughly where, and what you want people to be able to make there.

  2. 02

    Feasibility

We look at demand, premises, power, and what it will actually cost to run — not just to open.

  3. 03

    Design and equipment

Layout, tool list and safety planning, based on what we've learned running our own spaces.

  4. 04

    Training and handover

We train your staff on the equipment and on running a space safely, then stay reachable.

Tell us about your space

The more concrete you are, the more useful our first reply will be.

Town or city

Who is it for, and what would they make there?

Funding, equipment, training, introductions — be specific.
