Most Arduino tutorials solve problems nobody has. These are ten that address things people around us deal with, roughly in order of difficulty.
**1. Water level monitor.** An ultrasonic sensor over a tank, an alarm before it runs dry or overflows. The most immediately useful project on this list.
**2. Power availability logger.** Records when grid supply is present. Two weeks of data tells you more about your actual supply than any assumption, and makes generator and inverter sizing a calculation rather than a guess.
**3. Solar-powered weather station.** Temperature, humidity, rainfall, logged. Genuinely useful for anyone farming.
**4. Voltage monitor with cutoff.** Watches incoming mains and disconnects sensitive equipment during a sag or surge. Has saved members real money.
**5. Home security sensor.** Magnetic reed switches on doors, a buzzer, optionally an SMS module.
**6. Smart agriculture controller.** Soil moisture triggering a pump. Start with one bed before you automate a farm.
**7. Energy consumption monitor.** A current transformer clamp and a display. Makes electricity visible, which reliably changes how people use it.
**8. Air quality monitor.** Particulate sensing. Interesting anywhere generators run.
**9. Automated pet feeder.** A servo, a hopper and a schedule. A good introduction to mechanism design.
**10. Medication reminder.** Timed alerts and a compartment indicator. Simple electronics, disproportionately useful.
**Where people get stuck**
Almost always power, not code. A project that works on the bench fails in the field because it was never designed to survive on a battery, in heat, or through a supply interruption. Plan the power before the software.
